Spectrolytic is contributing to a more sustainable industry with its FAME analyser

GUEST POST.
Author: Aleksandra Bavdaz (Marketing Executive at Spectrolytic)

Spectrolytic is working with a number of organisations regarding its latest innovation: FAME Portable Analyser. One of their most recent projects is a collaboration with LEMIGAS (a research and development center for oil and gas technology under the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) that is now using several of the Spectrolytic’s FAME analysers to verify the FAME content in biodiesel, especially in remote mining operations. Spectrolytic’s FAME analyser is calibrated for B0-B100 applications and can be customised to the specific regulatory requirements. This is just one example of how Spectrolytic’s products can help customers to achieve a greener economy by significantly reducing the emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse and toxic gases.

Founded in 2012 with the aim of making cost-effective spectroscopy solutions more widely available, Spectrolytic owns an innovative product portfolio which moves the powerful analytical technology of mid-infrared spectroscopy out of the lab and into the field, providing instant, analytical analysis of samples without the need for lab analysis according to their slogan “Samples can talk – let us translate their message for you”.

Spectrolytic’s products can be directly integrated into a machine (in-line) or a sample can be measured directly after the sample was taken (at-line). At-line analysers are rugged and robust and are specifically designed for outside use. No moving parts and basically maintenance free. The in-line analysers are directly integrated into high value asset (gas turbines, biogas engines, etc.) and provides the customers real time insights into all relevant oil condition parameters. The data can be accessed by the customer via a dedicated cloud-based dashboard.

Spectrolytic is currently evaluating the suitability of its products in biorefineries and palm-oil production and we are always open to learn more about possible applications and problems in this field. Please, get in touch if you want to learn more about our products or have an interesting measurement problem that needs to be solved.
