ERA-NET Cofund BlueBio launches new call to unlock the potential of aquatic bioresources

ERA-NET Cofund BlueBio has launched its second call to unlock the potential of aquatic bioresources. The call is targeted on supply systems in the blue bioeconomy: logistics and transportation, from harvest to processing.

The ERA-NET Cofund on Blue Bioeconomy (BlueBio) successfully continues the work of the ERA-NET Marine Biotechnology1 (ERA-MBT, 2012 - 2017) and COFASP2 (2012-2017) and has been developed under the umbrella of JPI Oceans in accordance with the JPI Oceans Operational Plan.

The aim of the call is to fund projects that facilitate the transfer (logistics, preservation and transportation) of bioresources from harvest (catch or production) to processing to ensure e.g. traceability, quality, sustainability and the necessary quantity of the bioresources for conversion into products for the market. 14 partners from 13 countries have contributed 11 M€ to the call. The following partner countries will provide funds: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Portugal (Azores), Romania and Spain. All projects are open to partners from all countries, as far as they bring their own funds.
