ECB Group closes advanced biofuel offtake agreement with bp

The ECB Group has announced the sign of a contract with bp to sell more than a billion litres of low carbon transport fuel commencing in 2024.

The ECB Group is Brazil's leading producer of biodiesel with an annual capacity of 828 million litres. With this contract, signed on January 5th 2021, the group will position itself as the leading producer of biodistillate in the southern hemisphere and the leading supplier of bp on that zone.
The Omega Green advanced biofuel plant will be built in Paraguay and have a total production capacity of 20,000 barrels per day, producing a mix of renewable products (diesel, jet fuelt and naphtha). The venture includes the following partners: Honeywell UOP (owner of the renewable fuel refining technology), Crown Iron Works (US company that provides the pretreatment equipment upgrading the renewable feedstocks to a quality suitable for refining into biofuels) and Acciona (one of the world's largest engineering and construction companies).
