Type of post: NEWS IN BRIEF.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking applications for funding to support the production of advanced biofuels.

USDA is making up to 7 M$ available to advanced biofuel producers through the Advanced Biofuel Payment Program. The program provides payments to eligible advanced biofuel producers to support the production of advanced biofuels derived from renewable biomass, other than corn kernel starch.

USDA encourages applications that will support recommendations made in the Report to the President of the United States from the Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity to help improve the quality of life in rural America. Applicants are urged to consider projects that provide measurable results in helping rural communities build robust and sustainable economies through strategic investments in infrastructure, partnerships and innovation.
