Bio-on and TAIF sign agreement for PHAs production plant in Russia

Bio-on (Italian company focused on the biopolymers sector) and TAIF (Russian group that operates in the traditional petrochemical sector) have signed an agreement related to the building of the first PHAs production plant in Russia. Such agreement was inked in Moscow in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation (Vladimir Putin) and Prime Minister of Italy (Giuseppe Conte).

The agreement worth a total of 17.6 M€ distributed as follows:
- 5.6 M€ for licensing Bio-on's technology to produce PHAs from sugar beet by-products.
- 12 M€ for supplying plant components built according to Bio-on's proprietary technology (fermentors).

10 ktons of PHAs (expandable to 20 ktons).

90 M€.
Timeline
Beginning of the design stage: next month.
