Shell joins W2C Rotterdam project
Type of post: FLASH NEWS.
- There is an important update on the commercial-scale
waste-to-chemicals (W2C) project in Rotterdam whose advances have been reported
regularly by the Blog (see previous posts below for more information). The current
consortium of companies (comprising Air
Liquide, Nouryon, Enerkem and the Port of Rotterdam) has announced
that Shell will join as an equity partner.
- According to preliminary news, the final
investment decision (FID) was going to be made during 2018. Finally, the partners
aim to take the FID later in 2019 as it pursues the development work and
finalizes the selection of an EPC contractor.
- The facility’s sustainable methanol output
will be purchased by Nouryon and Shell.
