Emerging Fuels Technology to supply increased FT capacity for Red Rock Biofuels biorefinery
Type of post: NEWS IN BRIEF.
Red
Rock Biofuels LLC (RRB) is building a biorefinery in Lakeview (Oregon,
USA). The facility will transform waste woody biomass into renewable diesel and
jet fuels through a process involving the following technologies: gasification,
Fischer-Tropsch (FT) conversion and hydroprocessing.

According to preliminary news, the FT reactors for
the plant was going to be supplied by Velocys.
However, this company announced a series of amendments in its licensing
contracts with RRB last month. These amendments implied a reduction from six to
four reactors and the accelerated delivery of the first of them.

agreement with Red Rock Biofuels”, 12/2/2019.
The rest of the initial FT capacity seems to be
manufactured by Emerging Fuels Technology
(EFT) which had executed a license agreement with RRB in October 2018 to
provide its TL8a Fischer-Tropsch technology for the Lakeview project. EFT has
just announced an amendment of that first agreement that doubles the FT
capacity to be provided. The new capacity will be incorporated immediately in
the plant which is currently under construction.
