ARD acquires the pilot platform of Procethol-2G

- ARD, a French company specialized in the fields of industrial biotechnology and green chemistry and R&D branch of the cooperative Vivescia, acquired the pilot platform of Procethol-2G on November 1, 2018. The company, of which Vivescia and ARD are two of its eleven shareholders, has developed the "Futurol" process, a proprietary 2G ethanol production technology. The 12 employees of Procethol-2G, will joined the ARD team.
- This investment will enable ARD to accelerate its industrial and commercial development while offering a second life to Procethol-2G cellulosic biomass pretreatment unit, installed since 2008 on the Pomacle-Bazancourt biorefinery. Due to lack of funding, Procethol-2G could no longer ensure the continuity of its operations.

ANA and LanzaTech sign agreement for the purchase of sustainable aviation fuel

All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan's largest airline (on the basis of fleet size), has signed an offtake agreement with LanzaTech that will allow it to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), a significant step in ANA's efforts to minimize its environmental impact. By working with LanzaTech to implement SAF, ANA hopes to enhance the quality of fuel used in its aircraft while also meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of its efforts to become the most eco-friendly airline group in the world. Gevo signs sustainable aviation fuel sales agreement with Scandinavian Airline System

The blog has just become aware of a call for projects that can be very interesting for companies and research institutions from the biorefining sector: ERA-IB-2 7th joint call. Below, I present some notes summarizing the key points about this call (all the information is available in www.era-ib.net/7th-call-documents ): Organizers : ERA-NET Industrial Biotechnology in collaboration with the ERA-NET ERASynBio (synthetic biology) and ERA-MBT (marine biotechnology research).
