ARD acquires the pilot platform of Procethol-2G

- ARD, a French company specialized in the fields of industrial biotechnology and green chemistry and R&D branch of the cooperative Vivescia, acquired the pilot platform of Procethol-2G on November 1, 2018. The company, of which Vivescia and ARD are two of its eleven shareholders, has developed the "Futurol" process, a proprietary 2G ethanol production technology. The 12 employees of Procethol-2G, will joined the ARD team.
- This investment will enable ARD to accelerate its industrial and commercial development while offering a second life to Procethol-2G cellulosic biomass pretreatment unit, installed since 2008 on the Pomacle-Bazancourt biorefinery. Due to lack of funding, Procethol-2G could no longer ensure the continuity of its operations.

Mura begins construction works on its first commercial-scale advanced recycling plant in Teesside

Versión en Español Type of post: NEWS. Mura has announced that construction has started on the world’s first commercial-scale plant to use its HydroPRS process in Teesside (UK). HydroPRS (Hydrothermal Plastic Recycling Solution) is an advanced technology for plastic recycling. Press release: “ Mura Announce Teesside Project Commences Build & New Partnerships ”, 25/03/2021. Figure 1. Simplified diagram of the Mura process The Teesside plant is expected to be operational in 2022. It will be able to process 80,000 tons of plastic waste per year. On completion, it will have the capacity to avoid up to 120,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year, compared to incineration of the same plastic waste. STC acquires DuPont’s G2 ethanol technology assets

Sustainable Technology Corporation (STC), a subsidiary of Petron Scientech Inc. , has completed the acquisition of DuPont’s 2G ethanol technology assets, capable of commercially producing ethanol from cellulosic biomass. Mercurius Biorefining plans to establish pilot and demo plants in Queensland

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is testing a novel technology called REACH which has been developed by the US company Mercurius Biorefining (Mercurius) to convert biomass into jet and diesel fuels. On 20 th February, the Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning of Queensland (Cameron Dick) joined the CEO of Mercurius (Karl Seck) at Brisbane’s QUT Centre for Tropical Crops and Biocommodities (CTCB) to view the results of this scientific testing and discussing a plan to establish a pilot plant in Queensland area (see media statements , 20/2/2018). Shell Chemical to produce renewable surfactants for Henkel's laundry detergents

Henkel and Shell Chemical LP have agreed to a five-year collaboration to replace up to 200,000 tons of fossil feedstocks used in the manufacture of surfactants with feedstocks that are based on renewable raw materials. The renewable-based surfactants will be used in Henkel’s laundry product brands, including many varieties of Persil®, Purex® and all® brands. Surfactants are an ingredient in cleaning products that help lather and lift dirt.
