Part of GranBio, a Brazilian biotechnology company and pioneer in the production of cellulosic ethanol in the Southern Hemisphere, Bioflex Agroindustrial’s certificate demonstrates compliance with both RSB’s robust sustainability requirements and the regulatory requirements of RED (EU sustainability criteria and traceability requirements for biofuels and bioliquids). The certificate demonstrates that the 2G ethanol biofuel produced by the company has an extremely low carbon footprint, reaching an emission note of 8.2 gCO2eq/MJ, which represents an emission 91% lower than gasoline. Now, the company is ready to export its cellulosic ethanol to European countries.
